CWA reaches favorable settlement in Verizon copper network case before NY PSC

Speedmatters.org. In a big victory for New York consumers, the Communications Workers of America has reached a settlement with Verizon that will require the company to repair 54 central offices across the state, replace bad cable, defective equipment, faulty back-up batteries, and to take down 64,000 double telephone poles.

Verizon Attendance Lump Sum & Corporate Profit Sharing Payments

The Attendance Lump Sum Payment for Verizon workers will be in the March 2, 2018 for eligible employees.  The Verizon Corporate Profit Sharing Payment for plan year 2017 is $709 and will be in the March 9, 2018 paycheck.

Verizon 4Q17 Surplus Declaration & Special Enhanced Income Protection Plan (EIPP)

Verizon is declaring a surplus condition in 24 titles in Force Adjustment Areas 1-6. In addition the company is declaring a surplus of Central Office Technicians and Representatives in the Manhattan Article 8 Units. This surplus is due to process change and the provisions of the respective FAP Articles 8(b) and 10 will not apply in this case.
