Verizon CPS Award Amount

Verizon announced today that the Corporate Profit Sharing award for full time employees is $825.00.  The award will be pro-rated for part-time employees and those employees who participated for more than 3 months but less than 12 months in the plan year. The award will be paid on March 14, 2014.

Workers at Endeavor Communications Vote to Join CWA 1101

In a vote of 17 to 1, Local 1101 won an NLRB election to represent Endeavor Communications technicians who install Digital Life for AT&T in North New Jersey.

By-Law Changes Pass

The results of the by-law vote are in.  All three proposed by-law changes passed overwhelmingly. 

Proposal 1: Changes to the Local Retirement Trust Fund passed by 89%.
Proposal 2, Compensation for union business (lost time wages) passed by 84%.
Proposal 3: Pay-cut for Executive Board members passed by 93%.

By-Laws Changes Will Help Local Save $ and Give $ Back to Members

If you haven't received a ballot yet, call 1-800-529-5218 immediately to request a duplicate. You should have received a ballot in the mail with 3 proposed changes to the Local’s by-laws. The goal of the changes is to 1) put money back in members’ pockets and 2) cut costs at the Local.

New Labor Studies Class: Collective Bargaining

Local 1101, in partnership with CUNY-Cornell, is offering labor studies classes at the Local. Students earn 4 undergraduate credits from the CUNY School of Professional Studies, which they can put toward the CUNY-Cornell Certificate Program in Labor Relations if they choose.
