CWA Members Turn Out in Force To Protect Our Contract

More than 1000 CWA members and retirees converged in front of Verizon corporate headquarters at 1095 Avenue of the Americas last night to tell Verizon “We remember 1989 and we’re ready to fight in 2015”. They came from as close as 42 Street, and as far as the Hudson Valley.

Technicians at G-Tech Vote to Join Local 1101

Technicians at G-TECH voted 19-8 today to join CWA Local 1101. The G-Tech workers install and maintain all of the lotto machines in New York City. The new unit will cover all five boroughs.

Local 1101 Election Results

Local 1101 members voted overwhelmingly to re-elect President Keith Purce, Secretary-Treasurer Kevin Condy, Business Agents Ken Beckett, Peter Torres, and Val Valentino. Heather Trainor was elected Business Agent for AT&T Mobility/Avaya and Bill Stefandel was elected Business Agent for Southern. (see results below).

Contract Rally at Verizon to Protect Our Jobs & Our Future Thursday, December 4 at 6pm

December 4, 2014 marks the 25 year anniversary of the end of the 1989 strike. Many of us were part of that strike, a lot of us came into the company afterward. We've all benefited from the sacrifices of our brothers and sisters during the strike.

New Members of Local 1101 Win First Contract

NYC MetroPCS workers vote yes on first contract. Just over a year ago the workers of Metro PCS/T-Mobile in the Lexington Avenue store, NYC, set out to form a union. When they started they had three major issues they wanted to see addressed: fair scheduling, job security, and respect from management.

Local 1101 Officers Election

If you haven't received a ballot yet call 800-529-5218. Ballots were mailed to all eligible members on October 15, 2014. Any eligible member who has not received a ballot in the mail, at home, may request a duplicate ballot beginning October 22, 2014 by calling the American Arbitration Association (AAA) at 800 529-5218.
