NY Assembly Members Chide Verizon on Voice Link

Fifty-nine members of the New York State Assembly sent a letter to the state’s Public Service Commission (PSC), urging stronger action in the Verizon/Voice Link matter.  Under pressure, Verizon last month announced that it would build a fiber network on Fire Island, dropping plans to substitute the wireless Voice Link service on residents of the storm-ravaged island. However, this has apparently not deterred Verizon in other areas.

New York City Metro PCS Workers Vote to Join CWA

New York City retail store employees at a MetroPCS store in Harlem voted Wednesday for a union voice and representation by CWA. The vote was 7-1.  The number may seem small, but it's a huge victory for these workers and for thousands more across T-Mobile US who want representation to address their issues on the job. MetroPCS merged with T-Mobile US earlier this year.
