USIC Workers Overwhelmingly Ratify New Contract

It was a hard fought battle. Workers at USIC beat back two decertification votes over the past 2 and a half years. Their tenacity and determination to remain union and members of CWA Local 1101 held strong throughout. Their hard work paid off. They won a much stronger contract which makes USIC jobs in NYC and Long Island a career path, not just a job.

Members met this past week in the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Long Island for contract interpretation meetings and to vote on the contract. Their vote was an OVERWHELMING YES. Congratulations to USIC workers, and to the members of the Local 1101 bargaining team: Vice President Al Russo, Business Agent Ken Spatta, District 1 Staff Representative John Dempsey, USIC locators Tony Morales and Michael Hackett.
