Have You Mailed Your By-Laws Ballot Yet?

If you haven't received a ballot yet, call AAA 1-800-529-5218. Ballots for the By-Law Election are being mailed on or before September 12, 2016.  Any eligible member who has not received a ballot in the mail by September 19, 2016 or needs a new ballot, may request a new ballot by contacting the AAA at 1-800-529-5218.  If you request and return another ballot only the replacement will be counted.

African American Day Parade, September 18

Join CWA Local 1101 at the African American Day Parade on Sunday, September 18. We will meet on West 112 St between St Nicholas Ave and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd at 12pm. Parade begins at 1pm. This year the African American Day Parade celebrates 47 years in Harlem, New York. The African American Day Parade (AADP) is held every third Sunday in September and it is the most renowned African American parade in the country.

NYC Labor Day Parade, Sept 10, 2016

The New York City Labor Day Parade will be Saturday, September 10.  CWA will meet on East 45th Street between Madison & Vanderbilt at 10am. Workers across NYC looked to the Verizon strike for inspiration. So many of the City's unions supported us on the picket lines. They adopted Wireless stores, brought food and drink to the lines, refused to cross, raised money, invited strikers to speak at their meetings and rallies, and helped us in so many ways.

Join Local 1101 at the annual Ed Dempsey Scholarship Fund Golf Outing. Friday, September 9, 2016 at Pelham Bay/Split Rock Golf Course. All proceeds go to the Local 1101 Scholarship Fund.  Please pay by 9/2/2016 to guarantee your foursome. Fee is $165 per golfer. Dinner with 3 hour open bar. Dinner only guests welcome also at $60//person.

Fall Labor Studies Classes - Unions & Labor Relations, and Arbitration

CWA Local 1101, in partnership with the Cornell-CUNY Labor Relations Program, will offer a class on Unions & Labor Relations on Thursday evenings, beginning August 25, 2016 and a class on Arbitration on Tuesday evenings, beginning August 30. The classes are a great opportunity to learn about bargaining, arbitration, the grievance procedure, and building union power.
