Global Student Climate Strike - Fri, Sept 20

With record-breaking temperatures, flooding, and storms in the last few months alone, we can clearly see that climate change is a real and pressing threat.

Pointing to the inspiration of the labor movement, young people are calling to “stop business as usual” and demand action from our elected officials. CWA District 1 stands in solidarity, calling for action on climate change while also recognizing the important opportunities in this crisis to create millions of good jobs and strengthen unions.

CWA District 1 is proud to stand with our brothers and sisters in the Labor Network for Sustainability and People’s Climate Movement NY on Friday, September 20th to demand action on climate change.

Schedule of events:
12pm: Rally in Foley Square followed by a march to Battery Park
3pm – 5pm: Rally in Battery Park followed by speeches from key climate leaders and activists

Join us after work at the Battery Park rally. Look for the union signs and banners toward the back of the park on the NE side under the trees. Or, call Local 1101 at 212-633-2666 later in the week for more details.
