NYSNA Nurses Give Strike Notification to Hospitals

More than 10,000 nurses in NYC, members of the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) told management that if they don't reach an agreement by April 2, they'll be forced to strike.

The nurses biggest issue? Safe staffing. "Right now, because hospitals refuse to hire enough bedside caregivers, we are forced to care for up to 19 patients at once. When that happens, you, our patients, suffer," said the flyer nurses handed out.

Hundreds of nurses rallied outside Mt Sinai Hopsital in upper Manhattan, together with public officials and labor supporters. City Council Leader Corey Johnson went inside the hospital with the nurses to deliver the strike authorization notification.

What can you do now? Call 844-82-NYSNA (844-826-9762) and tell hospital CEOS that nurses deserve a fair contract.

And stay tuned! We'll keep you posted. If NYSNA nurses go on strike, we'll be there to support them.
