Celebrate International Women's Day by Supporting Worker Organizing

March 8 is International Women's Day. Join Local 1101's Women's Committee on Saturday, March 6 at 11am at a rally and march in lower Manhattan in support of women fighting union busting at Liox Cleaners.

Liox cleaners fired the workers at its Wash Supply laundromat two weeks ago for forming a union and standing up against dangerous working conditions and starvation wages. The Wash Supply campaign is supported by the Laundry Workers Center, which also supported workers' organizing efforts at the Hot & Crusty bakery/restaurant, Bröd Kitchen, Liberato Restaurant, B&H Photo and elsewhere.

On Saturday, March 6, workers and supporters will gather at 11am in front of Liox Cleaners, 123 Allen Street (between Delancey and Rivington on Manhattan's Lower East Side) to rally and march in honor of International Women's Day and in solidarity with the women who were fired for organizing. The protest will demand Liox/Wash Supply's stop its union-busting campaign against immigrant laundry workers.
