Juneteenth @ AT&T Mobility

AT&T Mobility workers wore black today to celebrate Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the day in 1865 when Union troops announced in Galveston, Texas that all remaining slaves were free - almost two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

AT&T members also wore black to demonstrate their anger at AT&T Mobility for taking advantage of the pandemic to cut jobs and close stores. Earlier this week AT&T announced they would cut thousands of jobs across the country, and would permanently close 250 AT&T Mobility and Cricket stores. This is on top of 41,000 jobs AT&T has already cut, despite getting major tax breaks with promises to create jobs and raise wages.

AT&T members in NYC, all in black, made clear what they think of AT&T's recent announcement and broken promises.
