CWA Supports July 20 Day of Action Demanding Justice for Black Lives

CWA Stands in solidarity with the tens of thousands of workers in 25 cities who marched, protested, and in some cases went on strike today to highlight racial and economic equality.  "The National Strike/Day of Action is a worker-driven action to demand that bosses and elected officials address the systemic racism that drives economic inequality in this country. We are demanding guaranteed sick pay, affordable health care, strengthened health and safety protections for essential workers, and stronger organizing rights for all workers." (CWA press release)

"Tens of thousands of workers nationwide have or are planning to walk off the job Monday in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, hoping to draw closer scrutiny to the income inequality and systemic racism that organizers say have become more entrenched during the pandemic." (Washington Post article, Jacob Bogage.)

CWA Local 1101s Equity Committee members helped put together this strong showing of support for today's actions across the country.
