Today is a good day to talk about climate change and workers

With unprecedented rainfall in the Northeast last night and CWA members and other union workers on the job as we speak helping with the recovery, now is a good time to talk about how climate change will affect our communities, jobs, and work lives.

Join us this evening (Thursday, September 2) at 5:30pm to learn more about the impact of climate change on our jobs, and what we can do to fight it

As we're facing more extreme weather like we've seen over the past several months -heatwaves melting cable lines, extreme droughts leading to massive forest fires in one part of the country and record-breaking rainstorms in other parts of the country - we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape a our future and create good union jobs that benefit communities across the Northeast.

It's our job in the labor movement to make sure these are good jobs that benefit the climate, workers, and communities. It's also our job to make sure that folks who lose their jobs during the transition are taken care of.

Leading the webinar are special guests:

  • Mariah Dignan, Long Island Organizer for the Climate Jobs NY & Climate Jobs NY Education Fund
  • Zach Cunningham from the ILR Worker Institute at Cornell University
