Always Organizing! New members at Local 1101

March For Our Lives
On 9/20/23, March For Our Lives, recognized their employees and are new members of CWA Local 1101. Born out of a tragic school shooting, March For Our Lives is a courageous youth-led movement dedicated to promoting civic engagement, education, and direct action by youth to eliminate the epidemic of gun violence.  There are 15 employees in this unit. CWA Local 1101 Lead Organizer Keith Hogarty worked on this campaign.
 

Calyx Institute.
On October 12th, The Calyx Institute, recognized their employees and are new members on CWA local 1101. The Calyx Institute's mission is to educate the public about privacy in digital communications and to develop tools that anyone can use to build "privacy by design" into their internet access. The Calyx Institute is a non-profit education and research organization devoted to studying, testing and developing and implementing privacy technology and tools to promote free speech, free expression, civic engagement and privacy rights on the internet and in the mobile communications industry. There are 10 employees in this unit. CWA Local 1101 Lead Organizer Keith Hogarty worked on this campaign.
 

OSD
On October 8th, OSD Utilities recognized their employees and are new members of CWA Local 1101. OSD is a sub-contractor for Verizon that completes finishing work (concrete, slabs, cement curves etc..) during FIOS buildouts. There are 25 people in this unit.
