IATSE Local 161 Staff Ratify First Contract with CWA Local 1101

IATSE Local 161 Members ratified their first contract with CWA Local 1101 today! The staff members at Local 161 joined Local 1101 in 2024. They work as Field Representatives and Office Staff for the NY based IATSE Local which represents Production Accountants, Production Coordinators, and Script Supervisors. They keep Local 161 running!

IATSE Local 161 voluntarily recognized the group when we presented a super-majority on union authorization cards last summer.  We’re thrilled we have a first contract with just cause, a grievance procedure, wage increases, severance and layoff language, guaranteed benefits, protection against contracting out work, and more. The two-year contract passed unanimously. 

CWA 1101 Executive Vice President Al Russo, Business Agent Keith Hogarty, Lead Organizer Pam Galpern and IATSE 161 staff members Rufina Shumunova and Tamika Whittick comprised the CWA Local 1101 Bargaining Team.
