Local 1101 and NYSNA demand NY fund our healthcare centers

CWA Local 1101 and New York State Nurses Association members joined together outside Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx on Tuesday. The action is one of many across New York State this week demanding that New York raise revenue and fund our healthcare centers. Our healthcare centers need adequate funding to protect the health and safety of the workers and the patients they care for.

New York legislators joined us in the call for safe staffing and adequate funding, including City Councilman Fernando Cabrera, NYS Assemblywoman Karines Reyes, and NYC Council District 13 candidate Marjorie Velazquez.

What can you do?

Send an email today to your NYS legislators to tell them that New York must take action to raise revenue and fund our healthcare centers NOW - for the health and safety of workers and the patients we care for! #FundHealthcareStaffing

We know that with a budget crisis on our hands and the State already struggling with budget cuts, we must raise revenue in order to make sure our healthcare centers get the funding they - and workers, and patients - desperately need. Send an email to your NYS legislators right now to tell them that we must tax the ultra-rich in order to protect healthcare! #FundHealthcareStaffing

The COVID-19 made the case for staffing painfully clear: it’s literally a matter of life and death. As we prepare for a possible second wave of COVID-19 throughout the fall and winter we can’t be caught unprepared - email your NYS legislators right now to tell them that we must bring in revenue in order to support our healthcare centers. #FundHealthcareStaffing
