Sanky Workers Join CWA Local 1101

Workers at Sanky Communications, a NY based company providing on-line fundraising support to nonprofits across the country, joined CWA Local 1101. Sanky workers started organizing in 2024, talking with co-workers and building support. In March of this year the workers reached a super-majority on union authorization cards. 

Seeing the overwhelming support for the union, Sanky agreed to voluntarily recognize the union but contested who would be included in the bargaining unit. The workers mobilized and showed Sanky that not only was the group as strong as ever, it was growing. The company conceded that a contested job title wasn’t actually management, and we reached an agreement on the unit. 

On May 21 the American Arbitration Association counted the cards and verified super-majority support for the union. CWA 1101 Lead Organizer Pam Galpern, Business Agent Keith Hogarty and EVP Al Russo worked on the campaign. Now, on to bargaining! Welcome to Local 1101 newest members at Sanky!
