Remembering 9/11
On this 21st anniversary of the attacks at the World Trade Center we remember the people we lost on that tragic day. We recognize the CWA members who were in the area, many of whom spent months and even years rebuilding the entire telecommunication network in lower Manhattan. We honor the members and retirees we lost to 9/11 related illnesses, and send our deepest condolences to their families. And we stand with the members and retirees who are battling 9/11 illnesses today.
Last year on the 20 year anniversary we interviewed CWA Local 1101 members about their 9/11 experiences. You can watch that amazing video here. You can also see the Member Voices Interviews that 1101 members did on this website, just go to the Local 1101 home page and scroll down. Thank you to everyone who participated and reminded us of the sacrifices made and tremendous work by our members in the months that followed.
If you lived or worked at or near Ground Zero following 9/11 and have not registered with the World Trade Center Health Program and the Victim Compensation Fund, it is not too late. Visit our WTC webpage with information on how to register here.
