Welcoming 1105 Members into Local 1101

Today, May 1, I'd like to welcome our new members from Local 1105 into our 1101 family and wish you all a safe and healthy International Workers' Day. We are so happy to have you in Local 1101. In these most difficult of times we are reminded every day of how important it is to be union.

Our rights, our benefits, our future, all depend on the strong union we've built through our sweat and blood and tears. We will keep working tirelessly to expand those benefits and protections, and to get them extended to all workers. If we've learned anything from this crisis, it's that we're all in this together.

For years we have worked closely with Local 1105 members at Verizon locations, and stood side-by-side with you on picket lines, at rallies, on lobbying trips, and at parades and events. Some of you we know, many of you we will get to know as we move forward together.

These past few months have been tremendously difficult for us all.  Between 1105 and 1101 we've lost four cherished members to COVID-19 - Sonny Aravena, Zeke Cousins, Walter Simpson and Richard Stewart-Johnson. We've had countless members get sick, many are still battling COVID, and many are caring for or have lost family members and friends.

It isn't easy, but we will get through this together. On behalf of the entire Executive Board I'd like to officially welcome you into CWA Local 1101. We are strong. We are proud. We are 1101.  Click here to sign up for email and text alerts from Local 1101.
