Now is the Time to Start Making Your Plans to Vote!

Dear 1101 Members,

First, I want to thank you for your solidarity and hard work over the past several months, which have been so challenging for all of us, our families and communities. CWA members have stepped up as frontline workers in manufacturing, telecommunications, airlines, health care, journalism, government services and in many other sectors during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have fought companies, municipalities, and other employers for safer workplace conditions and adequate protections for all of us. Together, we’ve pushed our elected representatives in Congress to pass legislation that puts workers first.

Now, one of the biggest elections of our lifetime is coming up in November. The votes that we cast as union members will be crucial in ensuring we have pro-labor candidates elected at the local and state level all the way up to the White House. CWA members need to show our voting power and solidarity at the ballot box.

Due to Covid-19, there will be major changes to the way we vote this year. CWA members across the District are making their plans on how they will cast their vote to keep our families, workplace and communities safe. During a critical time in our nation’s history and in the midst of an uncertain pandemic it is important that we all take the necessary steps to ensure nothing prevents us from exercising our right to vote.  Start by making your plans on how you will vote – including from the safety of your home.

The CWA website has a helpful page where you can check your voter registration status and get the information you need to vote, including polling place locations and resources to vote by mail safely, securely and on time. CWA.org/Vote.

Below you will find information about how to vote this year, by state.
