Local 1101 and NYSNA demand NY fund our healthcare centers

CWA Local 1101 and New York State Nurses Association members joined together outside Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx on Tuesday. The action is one of many across New York State this week demanding that New York raise revenue and fund our healthcare centers. Our healthcare centers need adequate funding to protect the health and safety of the workers and the patients they care for.

Local 1101 Scholarship Winners

CWA Local 1101 awarded $25,000 in scholarships this year. We were able to award four additional $1000 scholarships in memory of Pat Dempsey who recently passed. We Need a Real COVID Relief Package - Phone Bank for the Heroes Act Aug 4

The next Federal COVID relief package, the HEROES Act, which the House of Representatives passed back in May, is stuck in the Senate. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has stalled the bill because he opposes extending unemployment protections and aid for State and Local Governments.
