As COVID-19 has moved much of our lives online, the importance of access to universal, high-speed, affordable broadband has never been clearer. The pandemic has exacerbated the disadvantages faced by New Yorkers who already suffered from lack of or limited broadband service, from unaffordable prices, or from slow speeds and low-quality service.

Recently, we got word from AT&T that they plan to permanently close more than 250 AT&T Mobility and Cricket Wireless stores and cut thousands of technician and clerical jobs across the country over the next few weeks. Union Plus Assistance for CWA Members including Met Life Legal and FreeCollege Program

CWA Members who currently have a Union Plus Mortgage, Credit Card, Personal Loan, or Supplemental Insurance programs may be eligible for additional hardship assistance through the Mortgage Assistance Program and Union Plus Hardship Help. The Union Plus Mortgage Assistance Program provides interest-free loans and a $1000 grant to help eligible members make mortgage payments when disabled, unemployed, furloughed, locked out or on strike.

Thank you Jacobi COVID unit staff

Our Members Assistant Program representative (MAP) Virginia Boscia, in partnership with Recovery Centers of America and with support from CWA Local 1101 and CWA Local 1106, bought lunch to the Covid unit at Jacobi Medical center. More than 30 meals were provided to the hard-working staff at Jacobi. Thank you!
