According to a new policy brief from Local Progress, the telecommunications industry has used misleading messaging to push cities to deploy 5G networks, resulting in unfair deals that "drain public coffers, ignore worker and public safety, and do nothing to bridge the digital divide."

Dec 4 - A Historic Day for Phone Workers . . . and Congratulations to our New Retirees

December 4, 1989 marked the end of the 4 month strike at NYNEX. 60,000 workers struck and thirty-one years later, we are still reaping the benefits of the sacrifices and gains made during that strike. A number of the union members who walked the line, flew in the flying circus, and made that strike victorious retired this week. We salute you and thank you for all you've done to make our union as strong as it is today.

Happy Thanksgiving CWA Local 1101

I'd like to wish all of our members a Happy Thanksgiving on behalf of the entire Executive Board of CWA Local 1101. It's been a tough year for everyone. We lost five beloved members of our Local to COVID-19. So many of our members have lost family members and friends to the virus. We've had to forgo family celebrations, social events, work and community gatherings, and so much more.
