Election Day is Just Around the Corner!

Early voting in New York and New Jersey is underway. You can vote early between now and November 6, or you can vote on election day November 8, 2022. This is a critical race! We need to make sure we elect representatives who will stand up to to greedy corporations and have the backs of the communities they serve. See below for New York, New Jersey and New England election dates and CWA District 1 endorsements.

Hispanic Heritage Week 4: Latinos and the Civil Rights Movement

American Latino history is rich, diverse and long, with immigrants, refugees and Spanish-speaking or Indigenous people living in the United States since long before the nation was established. Their fight for civil rights throughout history have fueled and have been fueled by other social justice movements, like the African American Civil Rights Movement and the fight for equal employment and education among immigrants. The Latino civil rights struggle, like the struggles of all people of color is ongoing and still today we continue working to address the less visible but very important inequities in our society.

General Membership/Budget Meeting, Thur Nov 17

The CWA Local 1101 General Membership/Budget Meeting will be Thursday, November 17 at 5:30pm at the High School of Fashion Industries, 225 West 24 Street, NY NY 10011. In addition to presenting the annual budget we'll have updates on new organizing, new contracts, and Local 1101 activities. Hope to see you there!
